did you know? alchemy supports visual storytelling in schools
September 15, 2025

When Bullitt County Public Schools named Stefanie Kleinholter their new Director of Communications this summer, it was easy to celebrate. Stefanie is known across BCPS for her dedication to students, staff, and families. She’s led in the classroom, mentored teachers, coached schools in digital learning, and now she’s stepping into the role of sharing the district’s story.

But here’s a detail you may not know: when Stefanie got her new camera equipment, she asked for backup. And alchemy showed up.

on-site school photography training

Karri joined Stefanie at a BCPS school for a one-on-one photography training session. Together, they unpacked her gear, walked through best practices, and then put it into action. Stefanie would head into a candid moment, capture photos, and return for real-time coaching. Lighting, focus, aperture, angles — each round was a chance to practice, adjust, and improve.

This hands-on approach is how alchemy supports school PR directors and communications teams. We know powerful storytelling often begins with strong visuals, and sometimes that means starting with the basics of school photography.

back-end editing + image curation support

And our support didn’t stop when the shutter clicked. On the back end, alchemy helps Stefanie process her images, edit for consistency, and organize photo libraries in SmugMug. This ensures BCPS has an accessible collection of high-quality photos ready to share with staff, families, and the community.

why visual storytelling matters for schools

This kind of visual storytelling support for schools is about more than pretty pictures. It’s about building trust and connection through authentic images of students and staff. At alchemy, we’re not just vendors. We’re teachers at heart. Whether it’s photography coaching, press release writing, or Canva templates, our goal is to equip district leaders with the confidence and tools to tell their own stories well.

For Stefanie, that support is already paying off. As one colleague put it: “She is absolutely amazing and is definitely as patient as a saint. Love her so much!”

We couldn’t agree more and we’re grateful to come alongside her as she begins this new chapter leading BCPS communications.
