Two weeks ago, our team had the privilege of capturing the grand opening of Central Kentucky Community Action’s new home in Elizabethtown. This move matters... and not just because the building is bigger, but because it consolidates essential services families rely on: housing and utility support, food assistance, employment pathways, youth enrichment, and health resources.

With the upstairs dedicated to Head Start, 64 preschoolers will now learn and grow in a state-of-the-art facility designed to remove barriers and set them on a strong path.

When Community Action thrives, schools thrive too. Families with stable housing, food security, and childcare are better positioned to support student success.

Research consistently shows the connection between strong wraparound services and educational outcomes:

• children in stable housing are more likely to attend school consistently.

Community Action’s presence in Elizabethtown creates a hub where these needs are met in one place and removes logistical and emotional burdens that too often fall on school staff to solve informally.
